AGAT
Known for her engaging live shows and no-bullshit presence, AGAT makes soundtracks for the moments when pretending stops working. Her sound blends Alternative, pop, and experimental electronics into a tense, visceral experience charged with raw emotion and fierce lyricism. Between control and doubt, clarity and confusion, her work is a deep, personal rebellion against every polished lie sold as growth – like fake empowerment, performative healing, digital narcissism, and commodified feminism. Every track is a confrontation with the masks we wear and the parts of ourselves we avoid.
AGAT has performed at major venues and festivals across Europe, the US, and beyond, sharing stages with Death Grips, Interpol, Sevdaliza, Viagra boys, Omar Souleyman, and more. Plans for 2026 include the release of her 2nd album, and multiple live dates, spanning various countries and encompassing both venue performances and festivals in Europe and the US.
Coma Cinema
Coma Cinema is the longest running project of songwriter and producer, Mathew Lee Cothran, known for his work as Elvis Depressedly and The Goin’ Nowheres. Coma Cinema has been active since 2005, remaining independent and happily obscure in an ever dulling world. Coma Cinema is committed to fighting entropy by the alchemy of art, bringing thoughts to life in Cothran and his listener’s minds with a spirit of deep gratitude for those who have listened to and shared his music for many years.
Evil Sword with Heart Stück Bernie’s Wolver Maroon
What’s that racket? Crashing pots and pans, flashing lights, literal bells and whistles, exploding furniture… This parade of dreams and nightmares could only be EVIL SWORD. Their unhinged songs and skits conjure up a world of fairy tale magic and monstrosities.
Their MacRock performance this year will be accompanied by maximalist contemporary dance troupe Heart Stück Bernie. This multimedia collaboration is made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation.
Public Circuit
New York City electronic trio, Public Circuit, dismantle and reassemble post-punk with surgical precision. Gone is any pretense of retro revivalism—what remains is something sharper, darker, and entirely their own. Their latest record, Modern Church, dances in the flicker of candlelight and fluorescent glare alike; translating the constant noise-feed and bustling attitudes of NYC into a no fat and all electronic synth muscle.
Shower Curtain
Shower Curtain started as the solo project of Victoria Winter in 2018 in Curitiba, Brazil, and has since developed into a indie rock four piece based out of Brooklyn, NY alongside Ethan Williams (guitar/vocals), Sean Terrell (drums), and Cody Hudgins (bass). shower curtain brings dreamy melodies to the forefront of their music, bolstered by instrumental distortion and insulated by fuzz. Their debut album ‘words from a wishing well’ was released in October 2024 via Angel Tapes/Fire Talk Records, sketching early adulthood experiences in swirling layers of guitars, bringing the sludgy distortion of 90s shoegaze and grunge and establishing shower curtain as a standout in the city’s latest crop of bands.
We are no longer accepting band applications for MACROCK 2026. Please keep in mind that we receive hundreds of applications, thus ensuring a lengthy process. Unfortunately, the MACROCK committee cannot book every band that applies.
The MACROCK committee’s listening process is as follows: As a committee, we conduct what we call a “blind listening.” Each committee member jointly listens to the submitted tracks before reviewing the application. This means we keep ourselves in the dark as to who you are, where you’re from, your status in terms of being signed to a label, etc. We do this in order to arrive at a decision with as little bias as possible. We listen to every application that is submitted in accordance with our guidelines. Questions about the application process? Email: macrockva@gmail.com
